Saramese Catz

Kitten Diary

In the Summer of 2007 Rosie spent a few days holiday at the home of Richdale Siamese with Grand Champion Foxtwist Al Fresco and returned home pregnant.

On 20th October that same year at precisely 4.40pm Rosie gave birth to her first of 3 Chocolate Point Siamese kittens in our bedroom wardrobe, lay in a carrycot I had from when my first grandchild was born.

The births went smoothly, Rosie's ever faithfully companion, Holly in attendance the whole time. After watching the 1st baby enter the world Holly assisted in checking and washing each baby along with Rosie.

Last baby was born at 5.48pm and all latched on by 10pm. Rosie was offered food at 10.20pm and was more than happy to eat two dishes of chicken applaws.Rosie took to being a mother immediately and along with Holly the babies were well fed and being cared for and never left unattended. I eventually retired to bed  at 3am after celebrating the new arrivals with a bottle of champayne with my husband.                                     Babies 1st few hours    Auntie Holly on duty

All three babies were boys and grew nice and steady. They were weaned at 5 weeks of age, and then at 6 weeks they were introduced to the whole house, and making their new home in the kitten pen sited in our kitchen.

Rosie and Holly introduced the kittens to the litter tray without any problems and before we knew it they were off for their first vaccinations at 9 weeks of age.
